Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Nori Zaccheo!

Nori Zaccheo is a scientist by day and a jewelry maker by night! She earned her MS degree in forensic science, but is currently taking time to pursue her true passion — jewelry making.

Ever since she was a child, Nori has been making her own jewelry. Her favorite thing to make were beaded necklaces, which became a statement piece for her. When she was out, people took notice of her pieces and often asked if she could make one for them. While at the moment she couldn’t, she found herself with time to spare once the pandemic began. Now, she has lots of time to share her passion with the world!

Her jewelry incorporates many styles and aesthetics. Her pieces can take a spiritual route with crystal beads or hamsa hands, or a funky path with bright smiley faces or fruit earrings. She creates styles for everyone.

Her creative process is simple: she takes a look at the supplies she currently has and visualizes how those pieces could fit together. She often takes inspiration from nature and her surrounding environment. She also gets inspired from her customers who normally come to her with specific requests.

Since Nori’s day-to-day life revolves around science, creating jewelry is an amazing creative outlet for her. It gives her a break from the rigid and analytical STEM world and lets her express herself in a way she normally can’t.
