Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Snowy Peak Design Co.!

Scranton native Marisa Liza Pell always had a penchant for the moving image, architectural beauty, and intuition & energy. Marisa left the area to attend Dickinson College where she earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts (Photography). She then moved to Boston and earned a Master’s Degree in Film, New Media and Video Production.

After 9 months of jobs in her field falling through, she ended up in Philadelphia where a random meeting connected her with one of Philly’s most talked about shock jocks.

Marisa also had another striking gift: her intuition.  After being recruited to be on the air, this catapulted her career in a new direction. Over the next 25 years, she became a regular personality as an Intuitive Medium on many of Philadelphia’s major market morning drive radio shows, as well as a featured guest on TV networks.

In addition, she worked with business executives and clients to transform their living and work spaces. Watching client’s lives turn around when they worked and lived in spaces that were aesthetically beautiful and an extension of their true energy inspired her.

She then met her future partner, Alexander Wyman, through a mutual friend. His musical talent piqued her interest.

A professional musician (Upright + Electric Bass) since age 12, he was the youngest featured member of the Rutgers Jazz Ensemble (trio). He holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts.

In 2019, they decided to slow down and move their family back to the mountains of NEPA.

While both continued in their respective careers, they started to work together on home renovation projects. After intertwining their creative passions, Snowy Peak Design Co. was born.

By utilizing elements such as wood, natural stone, woven textiles, and organic lighting design, they are able to combine transitional spaces with the simple, yet elegant qualities of nature. Alex’s custom and live edge woodwork is featured in many of their designs.

Snowy Peak Design Co. is named after the Snowy Range in Wyoming, where the couple experienced the natural beauty of the Rockies.
