Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Kristen Fisher!

Kristen was born and raised in NEPA and currently resides in Plains with her husband and children. Kristen is a self-employed business coach and youth soccer volunteer. In her spare time she owns and operates 6 Fish Pottery, a small batch pottery studio.

Kristen always loved creating. From sewing and crocheting to drawing and cake decorating, she’s always been immersed in a creative outlet. In 2020, Kristen joined many others and sought a new creative endeavor. She took the opportunity to pursue something she always wanted to do – pottery. She instantly fell in love with the process and has been fully invested ever since. It has even allowed Kristen to bring in other passions of hers into her work, such as plant life and has found ways to link that passion into her stoneware.

6 Fish Pottery strives to create functional artwork. Her creations can all be used as dinnerware or stand alone table decor. Everything is handmade by Kristen one piece at a time in a small batch process.

Her creative process is occasionally planned, with her weighing and measuring raw clay to come to a desired size mug or bowl, or, her process can be more spontaneous. Most inspiration for her work can be found in nature, most notably from plant life and landscapes.

To Kristen, being creative means finding something you love doing and pouring yourself into it in order to learn and evolve. If she enjoys the process of creating itself, and not just the finished product, then she knows she’s found something truly fulfilling.
