Every Sunday, NEPA Creative turns the spotlight on some awesome creatives. This week, we have Desiree Zielinski!

Born, raised, and currently residing in Northeast PA, Desiree is a graphic designer, artist, and filmmaker. She developed an interest for the arts at an early age, thanks to her parents fostering her creativity by enrolling her in art camps and classes and doing crafts with her. This paid off for Desiree, as she graduated from Marywood University with a bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

During the day, Desiree is the Art Director for Lavelle Strategy Group in Scranton. However, she wears many hats and is actively trying to grow the film community in our local area. She’s the co-founder of the Independent Film Creative Hub, organizer of the Mystery Box Film Challenge, and runs the NEPA Film Society, a local film community in NEPA.

Things like movies, nature, and other filmmakers and artists tend to inspire Desiree and help her experiment with various design elements whenever she’s called to create something. Other times, ideas will come to her, in which she’ll act on those thoughts and work until there’s something that catches her eye. She feels that being creative is all about being authentically you and bringing to light what the world needs.
