Located in East Stroudsburg, CYR/S was founded by lead vocalist Cyris Jacob Popis, with the help of producer Dylan Werle and co-founder, co-writer, and lead guitarist Gino Muoio. Cyris works as a quality assurance professional while maintaining his hobby of writing and singing. He understands the difficulty of making a living within the music industry, so he aggressively pursues his professional career path in order to afford the expenses of his art. Currently serving in the US Army, Gino maintains his love of music by taking part in the CYR/S project, regardless of the distance or difficulty in communication.
Cyris and Gino are longtime friends who have been playing music and writing together since 2011. Over the years, they have worked hard to write a trilogy of albums that not only tells their stories, but the stories of others. Along the way, they met Dylan Werle of Werleybird Studios who helped begin production on their first studio album, “Welcome to Our Hell.” The album consists of 11 songs that range from soft rock to heavy metal.
When Gino joined the US Army, Cyris thought the music was over, but he couldn’t give up. He kept writing and conceptualizing a story that spanned three albums. Dylan and Shaun Werle helped bring everything to life through production to start making Cyris and Gino’s dream a reality.
In the studio, the talents of Cyris Jacob, Dylan Werle, Shaun Werle, and Gino Muoio accompany CYR/S. Dylan and Shaun contribute to the production of the album and lend their musical talents across a variety of instruments. Dylan has also become a valued co-writer, working side-by-side in the creation process with Cyris and Gino. Gino writes and creates the core structure of each song with his indescribable talent on the guitar and extensive musical knowledge. At the heart of it all is lead singer and songwriter, Cyris. His ambition and love for the creation of music, combined with the outstanding talents of his friends, is a
process like no other, with a satisfying end result. It is this variety of styles and passion that creates a truly unique experience for listeners of all genres.
In 2020, Cyris and Dylan branched out and covered the famous Call of Duty Zombies song, “115.” Cyris and the team are currently in the studio working on their second album, “Welcome Back.” Continuing their theme of individual releases up to the final album release, the first single from their new album is expected to be released at the end of 2021, beginning of 2022.
