Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Angie Roback, owner of The Crooked Branch!

An NEPA local, Angie is a mom of two boys and a wife to an amazing husband. She worked as an interior designer for about 20 years.

Angie works a lot with wire and alcohol ink in order to create wire trees. If she finds an old frame with glass, she creates a scene on it from vibrant colors and then wires trees over it. This creativity led her to create The Crooked Branch, a local artisan gift shop. It houses her pieces, along with 36 other local artists that sell their own handmade work.

Her creative journey started when she was young, working at her mom’s bridal shop in the 90s. She remembers helping her mother with beads for fancy veils, which would help her become the crafter she is today. Then, she moved onto creating jewelry and wire trees. Angie has always been able to create unique gifts, mostly from upcycled items, and her passion took off from there.

For Angie, being creative means taking something blank and making it your own. The wire she uses isn’t anything special until she pours her love and creativity into it. She wholeheartedly believes that everyone can create something, they just need to find what their niche is.
