Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Staci Srebro!
Staci is a Factoryville local, animal lover, and fan of anything horror, wiccan, or gothic. She creates her own ceramics, making everything from mugs to sculptures.
She graduated from Keystone College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics and printmaking. Since clay is from the earth, Staci feels connected to nature when she works with it. She enjoys taking the soft medium and transforming it into something that feels sharp, dangerous, and fragile.
Creatively, she creates her work based in reality. Whether she uses an animal, cryptid, or an icon, she changes these subjects to suit her style and image. Her main goal is to turn anything she creates into a conversation piece. With only one look, she wants viewers to be able to recognize her creations as something she made. Growing up deep in the woods, Staci takes her inspiration from nature. She grew up hiking, playing with frogs from a nearby pond, and seeing various wildlife in her yard. The mystery of walking through the woods at night and not knowing what you’ll run into also inspires her work.
