Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Patrick O’Neill from Rusticat Woodworks!
Patrick is an NEPA native, where he is an engineer by day. Nights and weekends are spent in his wood shop. What started out as helping a local TNR project building cat shelters turned into a creative outlet. After building the cat shelters, he began to complete wood projects around his home. This helped Patrick form Rusticat Woodworks in late 2020.
With countless hours of research and designing, he eventually started creating small wooden goods for family and friends. He’s created everything from cutting boards, charcuterie boards, shelves, ash trays, desks, coffee tables, bookshelves, and even dining room sets.
Patrick takes pride in his vast knowledge of different woods, techniques, and milling processes. In addition to beautiful handmade works, he hopes to soon offer raw cut slabs and lumber to other creators in the area.
