Every Sunday, NEPA Creative turns the spotlight on some awesome creatives. This week, we have Juanita Harris!
For her whole life, Juanita, grew up with many dogs, some cats, and horses. For as long as she can remember, she always wanted to work with animals. “Animal care has become my passion and a big part of who I am today,” Juanita said.
As a pet salon owner and groomer for the last nine years, Juanita has enjoyed grooming all types of breeds and ages, but especially loves doing senior dogs. The special handling and attention to detail they require creates an indescribable bond. Her most favorite type of grooming is creative grooming. She’s groomed dogs to be Captain America and even Mr. T.
Prior to her career, Juanita completed her Degree in Legal Studies and spent time researching animal behavior which helped her understand the connection between dogs and humans.
“It’s amazing how I continue to learn about dogs every day and enjoy every minute of it,” she said.
Juanita is the owner of Grooming by Juanita in Wyoming, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Juanita also volunteers at local dog events. She is currently wrapping up a six city, six state tour called the “Pup Relief Tour” where she and 50 other groomers of color joined forces to groom dogs whose families have been affected by the pandemic.
Juanita is a mom to a five year old as well as two fur babies, Diamond her Bulldog and Nina a Maltese Mix.
