Every Sunday, NEPA Creative turns the spotlight on some awesome creatives. This week, we have Gary Cook!
Gary first got into photography when he took a class on it in high school. This was back before digital so everything had to be processed in the darkroom. He really enjoyed the hands-on aspect of 35mm. He kept photography as a hobby as time went on and began using digital cameras.
About a year ago, Gary decided to get back into film photography. Because there weren’t any local places that gave you the negatives back, he decided to learn how to process all of his 35mm images at home. Gary uses a combination of digital and film cameras for his photos. He’s hoping to one day make a photo book of the images he’s made of our area.
Photography isn’t Gary’s profession and he fits it when he can between his job and his personal life. When the Covid lockdowns started in March, Gary decided to learn more about it since he had more time.
