Every Sunday, NEPA Creative turns the spotlight on some awesome creatives. This week, we have Bethany Flanders!
Bethany Flanders is a bioethicist and creative writer from Dallas, Pennsylvania. She is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Bioethics program, as well as a Misericordia University alumni where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (with minors in Biology and Ethics) and Bachelor of Arts in Medical and Health Humanities. Bethany utilizes her education and skill set to analyze and address the moral questions and issues that arise in medicine and health care.
Aside from her dedication to bioethics and moral philosophy, Bethany also loves expressing her creative side through poetry, and recently opened her own Etsy shop where she sells a variety of her original poetry art prints. Many of her prints are created in collaboration with various visual artists, and together, they work to capture the meaning of each poem by bringing the written imagery to life. Bethany’s poetry and poetry art prints draw inspiration from her life experiences, education, and musical background in order to explore the philosophical elements of existence in ways that connect the soul and mind and challenges herself and her readers to welcome life’s deepest questions.
To read more of Bethany’s poetry and stay up-to-date on her first upcoming book release, follow her on Instagram. You can also browse her Etsy shop, connect on Facebook, and follow her on Pinterest.
