Every Sunday, we turn the spotlight on some great creatives. This week, we have Ariel Laura!
Ariel is a college student at Penn State University. She’s graduating this year with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing. On her social media accounts, Ariel’s Pages, she runs an English tutoring program and curates a local Blind Date with a Book. Blind Date with a Book is where a library, bookstore, or friend wraps multiple books, writes clues on them, and users pick the book they think a friend, or themself, will enjoy the most! It’s meant to allow readers to keep an open mind when reading books and discover ones they may not have normally picked! Currently, Ariel is offering a Blind Date With a Book: Valentine’s Edition which includes a romance book filled with treats. Every package includes a handmade tag that describes the book, giving the buyer a chance to try and guess what the book is before opening.
Growing up, Ariel loved reading, writing, painting, and making crafts. She’s always had an imaginative mind and started writing her own stories when she was seven years old. She’s always felt inspired by her English teachers, which made her wish to be a professor herself so she can inspire her students.
Ariel is motivated by her loved ones. They inspire her to complete her English degree and see where life takes her. To Ariel, being creative is an expression of yourself: your thoughts, feelings, and emotions are what make you a unique individual.
