Every Sunday, NEPA Creative turns the spotlight on some awesome creatives. This week, we have Lindsey Vollrath!
Meet your (soap) maker! Lindsey Vollrath, born outside of Pittsburgh, Pa, is a business owner and teacher of students with autism at Monticello School in Scranton. Lindsey owns The Releafery, a zero waste shop that carries handcrafted goodies such as all natural bar soap, emulsified sugar scrub, body lotion, lip balm, and more. She handcrafts many of the items offered at the shop, but also offers products from other environmentally conscious creators and local makers. Lindsey has been drawn to sustainability for a long time and saw a huge need for more plastic-free and/or refillable options in the bath & beauty industry. She opened the shop in December of 2019 right before the pandemic began, and is grateful to have survived a rollercoaster of a first year in business!
Lindsey is a self-taught maker and is passionate about encouraging others to make their own products using pure ingredients. She offers several DIY workshops for adults and kids, each focusing on how to create various bath & beauty products. She also specializes in creating sustainable, personalized gifts or favors for celebrations and events.
